HOW YOGA THERAPY CAN HELP

The benefits of yoga therapy can be seen in the physical, mental & emotional well-being.

What is
Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy addresses the health of the individual through the lens of the Panchamaya model. This is an Indian Anatomy model that describes 5 fields of the human system; physical body, breath, mind, personality and emotions. Working with any one of these fields creates a ripple effect throughout the entire system. Yoga therapists are skilled in working with clients using this lens. The ancient science of Yoga and its sister science, Ayurveda, strive to connect and integrate all aspects of the self through the following tools:

  • Physical posture and exercise (asana)
  • Breath work (pranayama)
  • Meditation (using guided visualization and imagery)
  • Sound (listening, singing or chanting)
  • Self Inquiry (lifestyle modification)
