About Me
I have been practicing yoga since 2000 and my yoga practice has evolved as I have evolved. My practice is a blending of Somatics, a form of neuromuscular re-education, Traditional Yoga, Therapeutics, and Ayurveda. This practice is an integral part of my own daily life and my life is fuller, richer and more balanced because of it.
In my mid 30's I developed some chronic pain issues. I started to notice how some of the physical practice of yoga would aggravate my pain. After visiting countless healthcare providers and not finding any answers I felt frustrated. I began to seek education in more therapeutic practices and found Yoga North International SomaYoga Institute. This unique blend of traditional yoga, therapeutics, Ayurveda, and Somatics (a form of neuromuscular re-education) finally gave me relief from my chronic pain and I decided to no longer pursue graduate school for occupational therapy because I felt strongly that more people need to know about this effective and efficient way to heal pain and trauma. I completed my education as a Certified Yoga Therapist with Yoga North in December 2017. I am extremely passionate about sharing this progressive modality as a way to heal and empower myself, my friends, family and others. My daily practice is an integral part of my life today and my hope is I can help you develop a similar practice that is uniquely yours.
If you are suffering from pain, trauma, disability, or have always been fascinated with yoga and wondered about it, but are too intimidated to try it or don't understand it, please book a session with me. I am looking forward to helping you start your journey.
The power of the breath,
the power of the senses and
physical strength of the body are each distinct properties.
They should not work against each other
but rather contribute to each other's well being.
